Bruce explains it below better than I can. However, if you want to send 3 things to Bruce for a future story, please do. Try to keep them in the vein of the who;e Bruce genre please. I mean, no stun phasers or warp core capacitors. *grins* Then again... I hope you enjoy.
Bruce's first Journal Entry
The Hidden Writings
IntroductionHello. My name is Bruce. I'm a Moose. You'll get more information as we go along but you need to have some background on me first. I came into being about 15 years ago as a character in bedtime stories. A friend of mine had small children and every night he either read them a bedtime story or told them one. After awhile, reading them a story became a problem because the books they had became dogeared and familiar. So I was born.
I won't give away any of the story but the children were asked to come up with three things, any three things, and then a short story, lasting about 5 minutes, was created around my adventures and those three things. What kept me going was that the story weaver stopped the story at a specific point (think Sheherazade) and continued it from that point the following night.
The children loved these stories for at least 10 years and still ask for these stories even though one is in college and the other a senior in high school.
So what has this to do with this journal? This is the journal of Bruce the Moose and his private adventures. No one has seen these written down. No one has heard these adventures spoken. These adventures are written in the private journal of Bruce the Moose and stored in the secret place behind a removable stone in his fireplace. These are the stories that have only recently come to light, and in the magic that surrounds Bruce you can also share in them.
What's required from you? Simply 3 things. Post any three things that you would like incorporated in a story and Bruce will relate to you an adventure that just happened to include those three things. When my friends children were together each was given one or more things to suggest but only three were used. If you folks post and suggest more than three things in a day, only three will be used.
What can these things be? Anything! Suggestions have ranged from a common dime to a black hole. A spider to a time warp. A leprechaun to a piece of cloth.
Come enjoy the journey through a magical land. Meet Otto the Otter, the law enforcement officer in Bruce's hometown. Otto isn't very bright but still waters flow deep. Meet Kamar the Lion, found in a spacecraft buried in Bruce's backyard and uncovered when Otto created a wonderful mudslide after heavy rain. Meet Bruce's dad who lives in the center of the earth (Think Pellicudar) and Barcuda who ferries Bruce between the surface and his dad's home.
If you wish to participate simply post and suggest one or more things you'd like in Bruce's adventure. Bruce will be sure to relate part of an adventure he's had in the recent past incorporating your suggestions.
